Journeyman or master Electrician

The DISTRICT is accepting applications for the position of Journeyman Electrician with the ability to achieve the Master Electrician license within 1 year of hiring or a current Master Electrician.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Thorough knowledge of technical treatment plant equipment and machinery and its operation, control, maintenance, and repair; thorough knowledge of plant processes; thorough knowledge of hazards and precautions associated with plant operations and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of a wide variety of electronic sensing, monitoring, and controlling devices including pressure, temperature, flow, level, electrical (volt, amp, freq, phase, etc.), gauges, transmitters, probes, RTU’s, RTD’s, etc.
Ability to monitor, maintain, troubleshoot electric motors, Variable Frequency Drives, local control panels, field wiring, and motor starters.
• Ability to use computer and computer systems to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot plant’s SCADA system.
• Must be able to follow and adhere to all plant safety procedures, and demonstrate good safe work practices when working in all electrical cabinets.
• Good understanding of MS Excel and MS Access.
• Demonstrated ability to be self motivated and be a self starter, taking initiative within job description and authority.
• Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team environment with shared goals and tasks.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Special Qualifications:
• Must possess a Wastewater Treatment Operator Grade IV Certification or obtain within 3 years.
• Must possess a valid Utah State Driver’s license.
• Must possess a Utah Journeyman’s Electrical license
• Must be willing to work on-call (24 hour), and respond to the plant site within 30 minutes of a call out after hours.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Levels i-iv)

Position: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Levels I-IV)

As a member of our world class operations team, you will solve a variety challenging issues, be given opportunities to learn new skills, and advance in your career. The DISTRICT provides competitive pay and impressive benefits. The DISTRICT is accepting internal applications for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I through IV depending upon qualifications and will remain open until filled. Minimum qualifications are as follows:

Major Duties:
• Use a variety of hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and shovels
• Monitor, maintain facility processes and equipment through sampling, observation, and instrumentation
• Respond to and participate in on-call emergency calls
• Operate vehicles in the performance of duties or to attend training programs
• Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
• Graduation from High School or GED equlivent.
• Minimum Experience as follows:
A. Five (5) years experience in treatment plant operations (Grade IV Operator)
B. Four (4) years experience in treatment plant operations (Grade III Operator)
C. Two (2) years experience in treatment plant operations (Grade II Operator)
D. Entry level 2 years work experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preference may be given to a candidate who currently has a Utah Wastewater Treatment Operator Certification Grade IV.

Physical Demands:
• May be exposed to wind, rain, cold temperatures, noxious odors, noise, gases, and potential contact with wastewater
• Ability to fit through a manhole
• Ability to lift 100 pounds
• Treatment plant operator is required to work swing shift
